Angel Wing is a 7,430-foot summit in Glacier National Park’s Lewis Range in northwestern Montana, standing east of the Continental Divide and dominating views around Many Glacier. Though not one of the park’s highest peaks, it rises sharply, especially above Grinnell Lake, giving it a striking presence in the landscape. Its runoff feeds Grinnell and Cataract Creeks in the St. Mary River basin. The mountain lies in an alpine subarctic climate with long, snowy winters and short summers. It also reflects the park’s deep geologic history, with sedimentary rock layers and structure shaped by the Lewis Overthrust beginning about 170 million years ago.
