The Natchitoches - Natchez Road, also called Harrisonburg Road, connected El Camino Real, San Antonio Trace, and Natchez Trace. The old route generally followed Louisiana Highway 6 and U.S. 84 and crossed the Red River at the Saint Maurice Ferry eight miles from here and four miles from Clarence.
