Bucks Ranch Hotel and Store stood at its original location one hundred yards northeast as a haven for pioneers and a pack train diversion point for miners heading to Feather River points. It also served as a stage station, express office, and post office along the 1850–1852 Emigrant Trail before being destroyed by fire on Jan. 13, 1928.
