Buffalo Bill Cody's burial site has long been disputed. His Last Will and Testament originally specified burial near Cody, Wyoming, but he later removed that request. In 1917, while dying at his sister's home in Denver, he remembered the beautiful view from Lookout Mountain and asked his wife Louisa to bury him there. That change surprised people in Cody and started a controversy that continues today, bringing threats to steal his body and false claims that he is actually buried in Wyoming. Several tons of concrete now ensure that he remains exactly where he asked to be buried.
