Colonel William Frederick Cody, known as "Buffalo Bill," was a noted scout and Indian fighter. He was born on February 26, 1846, in Scott County, Iowa, and died on January 10, 1917, in Denver, Colorado. William F. Cody also received the Medal of Honor as an Indian Scout with the 3 US Cav during the Indian Wars.
