Stockton State Park is a Missouri state park on a northward-jutting peninsula between the Big Sac and Little Sac arms of Stockton Lake, about nine miles south of Stockton. Its setting was created in 1969 when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dammed the Sac River to form the 25,000-acre reservoir. Surrounded by water on multiple sides, the park developed as a center for boating and shoreline recreation. Fishing, swimming, skiing, scuba diving, and sailing are major attractions, supported by a marina with two boat ramps and more than 300 stalls. Picnic areas, campgrounds, and camper cabins also make it a full-service recreation area.
