Crystal Bog is a protected domed bog in the town of Crystal in northern Maine, notable for its unusual wetland habitat and rich biodiversity. It supports one of the state’s most diverse fens as well as many rare plants and animals, giving it major scientific and ecological importance. In 1973, the site was designated one of Maine’s National Natural Landmarks. Today it remains valued as a significant natural area because of its distinctive ecology and biological diversity.
