In Moultrie, Georgia, in 1909, the Moultrie-McNeill Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy honored the county’s Confederate dead with the words, “On fame’s eternal camping ground, their silent tents are spread, and glory guards with solemn round, the bivouac of the dead,” followed by the remembrance, “Lest We Forget,” and the dedication, “CSA Comrades.”
