Robert E. Lee Campground was a small U.S. Forest Service site in Idaho’s Boise National Forest on the North Fork Boise River, where Robert E. Lee Creek enters the river. The campground and creek were named for Confederate general Robert E. Lee, making them Idaho’s only two Confederate memorials, though Lee himself likely never visited and the name is thought to reflect Confederate immigrants who arrived soon after the Civil War. Its later fate became unclear: maps and plans showed it in earlier decades, but it was likely decommissioned in the 1990s. In 2020, renewed attention to the name prompted discussion of renaming it.
