Jules Grandclair, a Frenchman who lived from 1855 to 1932, presumably constructed this cabin in 1876 on 11th Street. Grandclair was the father of Barbara Grandclair Cunningham and Lucy Grandclair Garvey of St. Francisville. A grandson, Steve Cunningham, donated the cabin to the Woman's Club of St. Francisville, and it was reconstructed on this site during the summers of 1984 and 1985. The cabin was enlarged with the use of another cabin dating from the same period.
