Valley Falls is a beauty spot six miles north of the boundary of Taylor and Marion counties, where the Tygarts Valley River dashes through a mile-long gorge in a series of lovely falls and rapids. It was included in the 1000-acre grant to Thomas Parkeson in 1773.
