Kelly Butte is a 5,417-foot summit in southeastern King County, Washington, within Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Though not especially high for the Cascades, it rises steeply above nearby terrain, including a 3,000-foot climb above Rock Creek within a mile, and its runoff feeds tributaries of the Green River. A 1.7-mile trail reaches the summit, where a restored fire lookout tower built in 1926 remains its most distinctive human feature. The route is known for seasonal wildflowers and berries, and the mountain’s marine west coast climate brings heavy rain and snow, with clearer weather from July through October usually offering the best climbing conditions.
