Unity Garden at Olde Town embodies Rockdale County's commitment to a better, diverse, and united community. It was envisioned, designed, and built by the Leadership Rockdale Class of 2019 as its legacy project for the people of Rockdale County, and it also reflects the efforts of a diverse group of community leaders. After beginning with a community-building exercise, the class developed the idea of a landmark representing diversity, unity, and legacy. Led by Mr. Steven Bromell, CEO of Pro Cutters Lawnscapes, Inc., the class worked with City of Conyers and Rockdale County officials to design, approve, and create the site, and raised all funds from private contributors as a community effort and gift to future generations. The City of Conyers approved the official site name on April 17th, 2019, following a recommendation from the Leadership Rockdale Class of 2019, and the site was officially dedicated on May 2nd, 2019. The Leadership Rockdale program, hosted each year by the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, educates aspiring leaders about the community and encourages their engagement.
