Warren C. Lane wore Belding Varsity Football jersey #61 and graduated from Belding High School with the class of "63". He married Marcia, moved to Grand Rapids, and entered the Army in 1966, but he remained a Belding son. He served with C. Company, 4th Battalion, 3rd Infantry, American Division, in Quang Ngai Province near the D.M.Z. in North Vietnam. His life was cut short just outside Da Nang when he tripped a booby trap concealed by the V.C., and he is remembered and missed by family and friends.
