Aires Butte is a 6,492-foot white Navajo Sandstone mountain in Zion National Park in southwestern Utah, rising about 1,100 feet above the Zion–Mount Carmel Highway near Ant Hill, Nippletop, and Checkerboard Mesa. Its pale, sculpted appearance reflects one of the rock units that helps define this part of Zion. Water running off the butte drains into tributaries of the Virgin River, connecting it to the broader canyon system shaped by erosion across the park. The butte lies in a cold semi-arid climate with less than 10 inches of annual precipitation, mostly in spring and summer, while winters usually bring only light snowfall.
