Kule Loklo is a recreated Coast Miwok village at Point Reyes National Seashore in California, created in the 1970s by the Miwok Archeological Preserve of Marin as a tribute to the Indigenous people of the area. Meaning “Bear Valley,” it presents a reconstructed village setting rather than preserving an original settlement in place. A central feature is its ceremonial roundhouse, which was destroyed by arson in 1992 and replaced with a larger one in 1993 through strong community support. The site also serves as a gathering place for public cultural events, including the annual Big Time festival, linking Coast Miwok history with living traditions.
