Venango County honors Vietnam veterans, especially the young men who went to war, lost their youthful dreams, and in some cases their lives for freedom and honor, and who returned with the horrors of war deeply instilled in them without receiving the respect and honor they deserved from the public or the United States government. It affirms that God will judge their actions, shine on each veteran’s life, and alone truly knows what they endured in Vietnam and live with every day. The honored dead listed are James H. Jarzenski, Owen F. McCann, Bernard F. Kistler, Larry C. Haylett, James E. Gosselin, Samuel L. Anderton, Robert E. Meehan, Philip G. Franklin, Jack W. Oakes, Robert J. Goodman, Ernest C. Homer, Scott M. Sibson, Ward E. Homer, Thomas A. Stratton, John E. Logue Jr., Roger O. Wells, George W. Daniels Jr., Paul E. Reed, Stephen W. Burgdorfer, William L. Schell, and Edwin F. Fisher.
