Citizens of Frostburg, Maryland, erected this memorial on May thirtieth, nineteen twenty, for the principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. It honors local men who died in their country's service during 1917 and 1918, identifying those killed in action, those who died in France, and those who died in camp.
