Faith
At South Union in Auburn, Kentucky, a former Shaker village preserves the history of a religious community founded in 1807 that remained active until 1922. Housed in the Centre Family dwelling, or Centre House, a 40-room building from 1824, the site contains original artifacts that reflect Shaker craftsmanship and daily life. Its location within the historic village landscape connects the surviving buildings and objects to the broader story of the community that influenced this part of Kentucky for more than a century. South Union is part of the South Union Shakertown Historic Trail, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
