Built by Thomas and Sabina Melady, the original one-story house was enlarged and remodeled around 1905 in the Colonial Revival style. The home and about 2,000 acres of land were purchased in July 1934 by heir Sabina Garvey Kelley and Grady L. Kelley, after which the property became known as Kelley Plantation.
