Lemmel Lighthouse
History
The light's power was provided from a home on the southwest corner of the lake. In 1958, Earl and Eleanor Lemmel purchased the home, assumed responsibility for the electric bill, and vowed to maintain the light as long as they lived there. They spent the rest of their days there and maintained the lighthouse until Eleanor's passing in 2005; Earl Lemmel had died in 2001. In 2006, the village moved the electric connection and named the lighthouse Lemmel Lighthouse in their honor.
