Jackson's Sawmill Covered Bridge, also known as Eichelberger's Covered Bridge, carries Mt Pleasant Road over the West Branch of Octoraro Creek in rural eastern Lancaster County. Built in 1878 by John Smith and Samuel Stauffer, it is notable as the county's only covered bridge said not to cross its stream at a right angle, a design shaped by a sawmill and nearby rock formations. The single-span wooden bridge uses double Burr arch trusses and an oak plank deck. After a major flood tore it from its foundations, the county rebuilt and raised it in 1985, and by 2006 it was reported in good condition after further rehabilitation.
