The Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany symbolizes the City of New Albany's commitment to the well-being of its residents and grew from a shared vision to make New Albany the healthiest community in America. It is named for Phil Heit, a health advocate and New Albany resident who, in partnership with The New Albany Community Foundation, formed Healthy New Albany in 2010. As city leaders invested in the idea of building a comprehensive health and wellness center, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospital joined the venture as partners, and The New Albany Company donated the land. Their combined vision fostered a culture focused on improving the well-being of the entire community one resident at a time.
