Kathleen McClintock, queen of the Pendleton Round-Up in 1929 after serving as a princess in 1928 under Mary Duncan, became one of the women who served as the face of the Pendleton Round-Up. She was depicted wearing her iconic leather outfit and riding boots. The daughter of L.A. "Mac" and Georgia McClintock, she came from a family that at one time in the 1930's owned a 12,000 acre cattle and wheat ranch west of Pendleton; Mac had served as president of the Umatilla Cattlemen's Association, McClintock Road is named for the family, and her sister Thelma McClintock Temple and brother Don McClintock were both active at the ranch. After graduating from college and working as a school teacher on the Oregon Coast, she returned to serve on the Pendleton Round-Up Court. Round-Up business manager George Baer called her the most popular young lady ever to act as queen of the 1929 Round-Up. She later served in many early ladies society groups in Pendleton and retired to King City, Oregon.
