Fish Creek provides habitat for many kinds of animals, including the White Cat's Paw mussel, a federally endangered clam. In 1993, a nearby pipeline ruptured and discharged diesel fuel into Fish Creek, contaminating several miles of the creek. That event led to a project to restore and protect the stream corridor, reduce erosion, recover mussel habitat, restore wetlands, and provide educational opportunities, with the hope of conserving Fish Creek's natural resources for future generations.
