Benjamin Rush State Park is a 275-acre Pennsylvania state park in Northeast Philadelphia at Southampton Road and Roosevelt Boulevard, with Poquessing Creek forming its northern edge and woodland along the creek bank. Unlike many parks, it remains notably undeveloped, defined largely by the activities it supports rather than built facilities. Its open land includes community gardens believed to be among the largest in the world and the airfield of the Northeast Radio Controlled Airplane Club. Plans proposed linking it with Fairmount Park and adding trails, parking, and reforestation while preserving these existing uses, underscoring its distinctive role as an urban green space for cultivation and recreation.
