Neshaminy State Park in Bensalem Township occupies a low riverside landscape at the meeting of Neshaminy Creek and the Delaware River. Most of its land was given to Pennsylvania in 1956 by the estate of Robert R. Logan, a descendant of William Penn’s colonial secretary James Logan. The site also preserves an older travel corridor along Dunks Ferry Road, established in 1679 for ferry access across the Delaware, where Alice of Dunk’s Ferry collected tolls and the nearby inn served travelers for generations. Its estuarine setting, shaped by daily tides despite being far inland, long supported Lenape fishing and still defines the park’s trails, marina, and recreation.
