Beginning at this point, the roadway was built over what was once the Overland Emigrant Trail, the same path followed by pioneer wagon trains of the 1840’s and 1850’s. Along the way, the road bypasses portions of the old trail, and any further destruction of all or any portion of the trail is prohibited.
