World War II veterans from the Szot Park neighborhood called Bemisuwka, a predominantly Polish area that was part of the former Bemis Family Estate, answered a sense of duty and went to war in response to peoples forced to their knees. Some gave all they had, others did what they could, and together they stood on that line. The veterans included three from the area who were killed in action.
