The Little Auglaize River Watershed Project covered a watershed area of 405 square miles and included 175 miles of construction. It was built under the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act by the Maumee Watershed Conservancy District, the Van Wert, Paulding, Putnam and Mercer Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and the City of Van Wert, with assistance from the Usda-Natural Resources Conservation Service, formerly SCS, and was dedicated in October 1998.
