In 1950, Arlene Dahl came to Kanab for M-G-M Studios' filming of the western The Outriders, where she was teamed with Joel McCrea, Barry Sullivan, Ramon Novarro, Claud Jarman Jr. and James Whitmore. Director Roy Rowland was impressed with her, and her natural red hair photographed strikingly against the beauty of Kanab. She went on to have a 40 year career and retained her lustre.
