Beginning in 1971, Joe Keene designed, built, and operated a one-story concrete block recording studio at this location. More than 350 performers and dozens of backing musicians recorded country, gospel, including Black and Southern gospel, and rock music here and in an earlier studio, including nationally and internationally known artists Stephen Ackles of Norway, Mildred Pulliam Whitehorn, also known as Veda Brown, Jack Campbell, Sheryl Crow, Narvel Felts, the McGruders, David Nail, Billy Lee Riley, John Wesley Ryles, and Trent Tomlinson. Offices for Keene's music publishing companies, including a room for songwriters, were also located here. The building was later converted into medical offices.
