Pine Lake State Park in Iowa, northeast of Eldora, centers on Lower and Upper Pine Lake, with part of the park also bordered by the Iowa River. Long used for recreation, it offers fishing, boating, swimming, camping, and more than 10 miles of trails around the lakes. Its waters support stocked game fish, while the nearby river is known for channel catfish and smallmouth bass. The park also preserves four stone and timber cabins built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Works Progress Administration, tying it to New Deal park development. A 50-mile bike route links it to George Wyth Memorial State Park.
