Diamond Peak is a ski resort in Incline Village, Nevada, near Lake Tahoe’s northeast shore in the Sierra Nevada. Created in 1966 as “Ski Incline,” it grew from an idea by Art Wood and Harold Tiller and was designed and built by Austrian consultant Luggi Foeger, opening that November. The resort has 655 acres of terrain, 27 runs, and 14 open glades for tree skiing. Its summit rises to 8,540 feet, with a vertical drop of 1,840 feet, ranking it among the higher-vertical ski areas around Lake Tahoe. Though it has expanded over time, it remains a compact winter recreation area serving the surrounding region.
