Corson’s Inlet State Park preserves a rare undeveloped stretch of New Jersey oceanfront along Corson Inlet in Cape May County, just south of Ocean City. Established in 1969, the 341-acre park protects largely undisturbed coastal habitats including dunes, shoreline overwash, marine estuaries, uplands, and the Strathmere Natural Area. These landscapes support migratory and resident wildlife and provide protected nesting grounds for vulnerable species such as the piping plover, least tern, and black skimmer, as well as habitat for endangered seabeach amaranth. The park also allows low-impact recreation, with summer beach access, boating, fishing, and seasonal restrictions that help safeguard its fragile environment.
