This congregation was organized on October 5, 1825, in a log house. A new meeting house, on the site of the present cemetery, was built in 1832. The current brick church was erected in 1854, with clay from the original site. Six churches have grown from Bethabara: Macedonia, Sugar Grove, Hopewell, Karn's Grove, Friendship, and Dawson.
