Mona School was made great by dedicated teachers, board members, custodians, students, and citizens. A monument was built from sandstone and brick recovered from the school. Its bell signaled the beginning of school from its erection in 1907 until its termination in 1971. Bicentennial Park on these grounds reflects devotion to and appreciation of the community’s pioneer heritage.
