Hambrick Village is named in honor of Dr. Horace Thomas Hambrick and Maribeth Porter Hambrick, both members of the Class of 1949. The Hambrick and Porter families have touched the life of Georgetown College in immeasurable ways, and Horace and Maribeth continued to build upon that significant legacy. Horace was a member of the Georgetown College faculty for 46 years, serving as history department chair for 26 years. He was elected first chairman of the college faculty and continued in that role for seven years. Maribeth served the college as a trustee and was president of both the Woman's Association and Alumni Association. Both received honorary degrees from Georgetown and were inducted into the Georgetown College Hall of Fame in 2010.
