The Pioneer Camp
History
7
A Mormon pioneer camp once stood here at a site chosen for its natural spring, access to the Weber River, and open view that allowed easy detection of threats. For the Mormon pioneers, the trek between Henefer and Salt Lake City was the hardest 36 miles of the journey. This small campsite held a special place for the early settlers as their last place to pause and rest before entering the Salt Lake Valley.
