Cataract Falls, on Mill Creek in northern Owen County in west-central Indiana, is part of Lieber State Recreation Area and is known as the state’s largest waterfall by volume. The waterfall is split into two sections about 1 mile apart, each made up of a series of drops along the creek. The Upper Falls have a total height of about 45 feet, and the Lower Falls drop about 30 feet. Below the Lower Falls, Mill Creek enters the southern end of Cagles Mill Lake near the communities of Cunot and Cataract, just off State Road 42 and near State Road 243.
