Dedicated on November 15, 1987, by Hart County citizens, it honors the memory of six Hart County men whose patronage never dimmed, whose loyalty never weakened, and whose courage never faltered so that cherished dreams could be realized for those who came after them. From the foothills of northeast Georgia to the jungles of Vietnam, they are remembered as the ones who gave their lives: Ralph Durward Cordell in 1967, Bobby James in 1968, Thaddeus Durrett in 1968, Louis John Clever in 1969, Sammy Howard Whitworth in 1969, and Galen Minor Smith in 1969. They are never to be forgotten.
