Old Brown Marsh Presbyterian Church was organized prior to 1756. The present building, the third on the site, was constructed in 1818, and the first two buildings were of logs. It was also used for secular education until 1848. Among its early ministers were H. McAden, Jas. Hall, S. Stanford, and C. Lindsay.
