Henry Fox served as the first presiding justice of this court on April 20, 1702, and was also a burgess and sheriff of King William County. With Captain Richard Littlepage, he jointly deeded on January 20, 1702, to the newly formed County of King William the land on which the first courthouse stood and on which the present courthouse was built about the year 1725.
