During World War I, from 1917 to 1918, immigrants in Copiague were remembered as having been ready when their adopted country called. Those named were Giacomo Affusa, Michele Agresti, Carlo Barcellona, Giovanni Balzola, Frank Ball, Giuseppe Bernagozzi, Angelo Bogni, Luigi Boselli, Hugo Campagnoli, First Lieut. Pasquale Caruso, Vito Fagone, Dott. Medico Vicenzo Fattoruso, Nicola Foglia, Natale Giorgini, Antoni Mazza, Silvio Orlando, Beniamino Parodi, Filippo Sparacino, Antonio Segale, Cesare Tassinari, and Francesco Trongiolito. The memorial was rededicated on May 19, 1963, July 4, 1973, and Oct. 24, 2015.
