Opening on October 10, 1917, the Farr Best Theater was operated successfully by the Farr family as Mansfield’s only movie theater until Roy Farr died in 1975. It was then sold to Charlotte Martin, who renamed it Old Bijou Theater. In 1980, St. John Lutheran Church purchased the building and met there until 1988. It was then sold to Main Street Theatre, Inc., a local theater group that provided entertainment through live theater and stage shows.
