Dred Scott

Dred Scott was freed from slavery by his friend Taylor Blow. He was the subject of the 1857 decision of the Supreme Court of the United States that denied citizenship to the Negro, voided the Missouri Compromise Act, and became one of the events that resulted in the Civil War. He is remembered as a simple man who wanted to be free.
