Maine Acadian Culture brings together multiple sites on the American side of the Saint John River Valley along the Maine–New Brunswick border to interpret the history and culture of Acadian communities in this border region. It is a decentralized heritage area rather than a single park, created to present a shared Acadian past that reaches beyond modern national boundaries. Its purpose is closely connected to the Maine Acadian Heritage Council’s work in highlighting the region’s distinct ethnicity and traditions. Although the broader Acadian story extends into neighboring parts of Canada, the area is limited to Maine sites, with management overseen by Acadia National Park.
