Vernon Wildlife Area is a protected landscape in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, created in 1946 when its first parcel was leased for public hunting focused on small game and game birds. Now part of the Southern Kettle Moraine Region Planning Group, it remains centered on wildlife management, with hunting and trapping allowed for species such as deer, turkey, ring-necked pheasant, and mourning dove. Its varied habitat includes native trees, brush, wetlands, and the notable Vernon Fen, a calcareous fen feeding the Fox River. Fishing is also important here, especially along Mill Brook, an Exceptional Resource Water and Class 2 trout stream.
