A frame church built by First Presbyterian Church held its first service on Nov. 2, 1878 and served as that congregation's house of worship until 1905, when Christ Lutheran Church purchased it. The Lutherans worshipped there until 1926. It was then used for commercial purposes until 1948, when it was raised.
