The Karymore fourteen-foot-diameter merry-go-round was a primary playground fixture in Crane Park for approximately seventy-five years and brought joy to many generations who frequented the park. Because of safety concerns, it had to be removed from operation. Owing to the sentimental value it held in the hearts of many residents and visitors, the City of Turlock Parks Division chose to memorialize it, and Mayor John Lazar, on behalf of the Turlock City Council, proclaimed April 4, 2008, as Crane Park Karymore Merry-Go-Round Dedication Day and urged residents and visitors to reflect on the many times they had spent enjoying the park.
